Employment Services
Program Overview
This program focuses on helping participants prepare for employment or re-employment by assisting with:
job search,
career pathway research,
resume and application assistance,
mock interviews,
business/job seeker events,
direct employer contacts and
unemployment assistance.
Veteran Services are available for eligible veterans and spouses including Home Base Iowa
Fair Chance assistance for justice-involved individuals
Job fairs and other special hiring events
Community resource information, including referrals to IowaWORKS partners
Assessments and Certifications to help you become more marketable in the labor force including, Office Proficiency Assessment & Certifications (OPAC) testing and National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC) testing .

Job Seekers are welcome to walk-in during office hours or make a virtual appointment to prepare for employment or re-employment by requesting:
Career and skills assessments
Current labor market information
Virtual Recruiter that will search for jobs in your desired field
No cost employment workshops (in person and virtual)
Personal assistance in locating employment opportunities
Assistance with completing electronic applications
Language learning software with Rosetta Stone
Mock interviews, interviewing tips and employer panels
Assistance in navigating your Unemployment Insurance claims.
Who is eligible or the best fit for this program?
These programs are intended to support *vulnerable populations - young adults, adults and those who may have recently lost their job(s) due to no fault of their own - in East Central Iowa who:
need of assistance to reach their career goals,
have questions regarding their unemployment and how to complete the UI requirements.
*Vulnerable populations include youth and adults with barriers, the underemployed and individuals with disabilities.
